More About 6x19 Bright Wire Rope EIPS IWRC (Steel Core)
6 x 19 wire rope is a general purpose steel rope used in many industries, including dredging, excavating, logging, oil fields, and marine. Common applications for 6 x 19 bright wire rope include winch lines, choker ropes, hoist ropes, trolley lines, and boom lines. In certain applications in large diameters, it can also be used as a crane line if spin-resistant properties are not needed. The actual rope construction is a 6 x 25 configuration, with 6 strands/25 wires per strand, which offers the best combination of flexibility and wear resistance.
The grade of steel used in our 6 x 19 bright wire rope is known as EIPS, meaning Extra Improved Plowed Steel. EIPS wire rope has roughly 10% more strength than regular IPS. An independent wire rope core (also known as an IWRC wire rope ) provides added strength, reduces the amount of stretch, and increases its resistance to heat. A bright wire rope cable finish does not offer any additional corrosion resistance over a stainless steel wire rope or galvanized steel wire rope.
