A concrete scarifier, also known as a milling machine or a surface planer, is a powered machine with various spinning wheels called cutters. The cutters feature abrasive industrial diamond tips designed to grind the surface of a concrete layer. A typical walk-behind scarifier is more effective than a standard grinder. It can grind up to ¼" of material per pass with working paths ranging between 4" and 16". These machines are ideal for removing concrete coatings, such as carpet glue or epoxy, carving safety grooving, or preparing a concrete floor for resurfacing.
