6X37 FC Bright Steel Wire Rope EIPS
Features
- Superior Strength, Less Flexible than steel Core
- Used with Cranes, Dredging, Excavating, Logging, Oil, and Marine
- Winch Lines, Choker Ropes, Hoist Ropes, Trolley Lines, and Boom Lines
- Description
- This strong fiber core wire rope is made of EIPS (Extra Improved Plowed Steel) and has a fiber core for added flexibility.
- The fiber core does not provide the support to the outer strands like an IWRC rope but adds flexibility to an already flexible 6x37 class wire rope.
- The extra wires per strand add that flexibility but also lessen its resistance to abrasion.
- You will find several different configurations, sizes and grades of wire rope in our Wire Rope category within the Rigging Supplies and Marine Hardware.
- We also carry coils of wire rope in 5000' lengths

More About 6x37 Bright Wire Rope EIPS (Fiber Core)
6 x 37 wire rope is a more flexible cable wire than 6 x 19 wire rope, due to the higher number of wires per strand. It's important to note that this configuration will have less resistance to abrasion than a similarly sized 6 x 19 wire rope. This type of steel cable is found in many industries, including crane work, dredging, excavating, logging, oil fields, and marine environments. Common applications include steel winch cable lines, choker and hoist ropes, boom lines, and trolley lines. The rope construction is actually 6x36, comprised of 6 strands/35 wires per strand.
The grade of steel wire cable used in our 6 x 37 fiber core wire rope is known as EIPS, meaning Extra Improved Plowed Steel. EIPS wire rope has approximately 10% more strength than regular IPS. A fiber core offers even more flexibility than the same 6 x 37 rope with an independent wire rope core (IWRC). A bright wire finish does not offer any additional corrosion resistance such as a stainless steel or galvanized finish will provide.
