More About 6x19 Bright Wire Rope EIPS FC (Fiber Core)
Our 6 x 19 bright wire rope with fiber core is a great general purpose steel rope used in many industries, such as crane work, dredging, excavating, logging, marine, and oil field work. Common uses include winch lines, choker ropes, hoist ropes, trolley lines, and boom lines. The actual rope construction is a 6x 25 configuration, with 6 strands/25 wires per strand, which offers the best combination of flexibility and wear resistance.
A fiber core creates superior flexibility over a similar 6x19 wire rope with an independent wire rope core, also called an IWRC wire rope. The grade of steel used in our 6 x 19 bright wire ropes with fiber cores is known as EIPS, meaning Extra Improved Plowed Steel. EIPS wire rope has approximately 10% more strength than typical IPS. This fiber core wire rope has a bright finish, which offers less corrosion resistance than similar galvanized wire rope or a stainless wire rope.
